Japanese Sword Museum
刀剣博物館
In order to preserve and nurture the traditional skills required for Japanese sword polishing, and the manufacture of sword mountings, the Japanese Sword Museum holds a competition for modern craftsmen. The competition is divided into five categories: polishing, scabbard making, mounting making, handle wrapping, and habaki making. The prize-winning works are displayed along with the works of current master craftsmen.
