How long will the renovation take?
The renovation is scheduled from October 2nd, 2023 through to December 14th, 2024.

Will it disrupt our stay?
There may be some construction activities taking place during your stay. The noisiest work will occur from Monday to Saturday, specifically between 11:00 AM and 2:30 PM. Please be aware that there might be occasional noise at other times as well. However, we’d like to reassure you that on Sundays and during extended Public Holidays like Golden Week (GW) New Years Eve and Obon, there will be no construction work, ensuring a peaceful environment for our guests. Your comfort is important to us, and we appreciate your understanding.

What type of renovations are being undertaken?
A full comprehensive refurbishment of guest rooms and corridors, spanning from floors 7 to 31.

Will the renovation project be completed on time, or is there a possibility of delays?
Although there is always a chance of unexpected delays, the hotel and its business partners have implemented comprehensive measures to ensure that the project will be completed on schedule.

Post renovation, will the hotel have the most up to date equipment including guest amenities?
Our hotel will feature the latest and most up-to-date equipment and amenities for our valued guests. We’re committed to providing you with a modern and comfortable experience, and we can’t wait to showcase our upgraded offerings to enhance your stay.

Will the renovation cause us to change rooms during our stay
While we don’t anticipate the need for you to move rooms during your stay, please note that certain room types may be temporarily unavailable. Specifically, some floors are currently undergoing construction, and this may affect the availability of adjoining rooms. If your reservation is impacted in any way, rest assured, we will notify you in advance and make every effort to provide suitable rooms while minimizing any inconvenience. Your comfort and satisfaction are important to us, and we appreciate your understanding.

Can we still use public guest areas while the work is ongoing?
The THANN Sanctuary Spa Akasaka will temporarily relocate to the guest rooms from March to October. Please be aware that starting in April, there may also be some intermittent noise in our Lobby, as well as in our Restaurants & Bars, between 11:00 AM and 2:30 PM.

What materials will be used in the renovation, and are they eco-friendly?
All materials adhere to global sustainability standards.

Could any of the materials have any negative impacts on my well-being or health?
All materials used in our renovation are carefully selected to meet international sustainability standards and Japanese code to ensure they are safe for our guests. We have taken every precaution to minimize any potential adverse effects on health. If you have specific concerns or allergies, please let us know so that we can address them accordingly.

What steps will you take to minimize dust and debris during the renovation?
We will utilize plastic coverings to contain the construction site and minimize the dispersion of dust into neighboring areas to the greatest extent possible.

Will the construction cause the lift to suddenly stop, cut off or leak water?
There will be no disruption to our lift or utilities.

I am travelling with young children will this disrupt their sleep?
Infants who require daytime sleep might experience some disturbance; however, we will make every effort to restrict loud noises to Mondays through Saturdays, specifically between 11:00 AM and 2:30 PM, to minimize any inconvenience.

If my booking falls during the renovation work period and room type, can my booking be changed?
If your booking coincides with the renovation period and your selected room type is affected, we will make every effort to accommodate your needs. Please get in touch with our reservations or guest services team, and they will assist you in finding suitable alternatives or making any necessary adjustments to ensure your stay remains comfortable and enjoyable.

I am considering booking the Club Floor, is it due for refurbishment?
Our renovated club floor, spanning from the 32nd to the 35th floor, received a fresh makeover in 2018.

I've booked and prepaid for a reservation, but I'd like to cancel it if it falls within the renovation period. Is it possible to receive a refund in this case?
If your stay coincides with our renovation period and you wish to cancel, please contact our reservations team at your earliest convenience. While we typically have a prepayment policy, we understand special circumstances may arise. Our team will be happy to assist you in reviewing your reservation and discussing refund options, ensuring we accommodate your needs to the best of our ability.

We have scheduled the introduction of our new rooms for February 2024, and they will be offered for purchase as an optional upgrade. Our website has the latest information available for your to view.
